NEEDLES
Hello ladies! I am cast on. My Addi Turbos were too slippery so I ordered Addi Natura's bamboo circulars. The join is terrible (a problem I do not have with the Turbos). Any suggestions?

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference NEEDLES:
Even loose joins can be darned shut after completion, but one way to ensure a good snug join is to use Cat Bordhi's (sp?) circular join.
After casting on you slip the caston stitch from the left needle tip to the right.
Then you insert the tip of the left needle into the last stitch - which is now the second stitch on the right needle - lift it up and over the moved stitch, off the needle and let it slide onto the left needle, becoming the first stitch you'll now knit into.
Hope this makes sense. If not, look at Cat's book on knitting socks on 2 circular needles.

Mmm... I'm assuming you're referring to the join between the cable and the needle on your Naturas, right?
Mine is... yeah. Probably the same as yours. A bump there. Or more like a little channel that the stitches want to get hung up on. I would say... you might like to try a different type of bamboo needle. The Clover ones have a better join but the cable isn't as flexible. So there's give and take. I think there are better wood and bamboo needles out there but they're kind of hard to FIND! I think Wendy Johnson recommends Holz & Stein. Virtually impossible to find inside the United States. There are other choices but I would say to keep looking around. I had one of my needle tips BREAK OFF on a pair of Addi Naturas right at the join. Possibly because I sat on them. But still. That was a major disappointment, I'm telling you.
I'd be glad to hear if you try something different and find better luck with the joins. A US3 bamboo circular is kind of hard to come by, I think.
