According to the sweet note I received from Juju at Juju Loves Polkadots, I am a winner! Yay! I am truly a blessed winner - for such a long time I kept leaving comments and doing blah blah blah trying to win people's contests. heh I wanted to win a contest SO MUCH. And now I've recently won two contests and received a very special package from my March Project Spectrum Postcard Pal!! Yay Yay Yay!!
My postcard pal was Catrin of In My Life. She sent a great photo-card of some beautiful red tulips at her house and also sent along two balls of Garn Drops Alpaca in an awesome pink'ish plum color to go with the March color theme of Pink and Red. I have to show the writing too because I'm just silly in love with the hand writing of people from other countries. Thank you Catrin - I really love this package!!
When I received Catrin's postcard my creative block was lifted and I was completely inspired by the photo she sent. I created a fabric postcard using vintage wool suiting and scraps from my fabric stash. It was a lot of fun. Here are photos of the card and also the little gifty I sent to her.
I won a little contest over at Janette's blog JB Knits, and received this super fabulous pattern book which I expect to be using VERY SOON for my 40 Days for Others knitting. She also sent along a precious book for Emeline, which I don't have within reach for a photo but has become her newest favorite!! I learned of Janette's blog through the Preemie Project and really enjoy reading about her house and adventures with her little girl who looks a lot like our sweet Emeline. Thank you so much Janette!
The contest at Juju Loves Polkadots was a special treat because the package had to come all the way from England! I just love this international mail thing. It's so awesome and doesn't take as long to get here (or there) as I thought it would. This is what came in the package from Juju: hand made ring from felted wool and glass beads (this is just so cool), glass bead earrings (they go with everything!), beautiful hand made card, and super cool vintage children's trading cards. This was such a precious package to receive with the sweet stickers and gold paper and sparkly card. Just opening it was pleasant! Thank you so much Juju!
Little Lila Pearl had a well child visit yesterday and is doing okay. I'm just continuing to be a worrier about her *only* being at the 50th percentile with her weight and length. (She was at the 55th at her last visit and keeps going down down down.) If she drops below 50 next time I will probably have a breakdown. Other than that, she is absolutely perfect - looks good, everything proportionate, eating and sleeping well, blah blah blah. EVERYTHING is great except that she has a worrying Mommy. She had four shots so of course she isn't thinking anything is great right now except eating and sleeping.
I've continued putting a few things into my etsy shop - still need to link that in my sidebar. I'm expecting more yarn to dye probably Friday or Saturday so watch for more sock yarn additions probably Monday and Tuesday next week! I'm planning to continue with tape measures and other small sewing items to keep from getting too bored with dyeing yarn. There will be some items added to the shop made by my mom in Texas which will add even more variety!
Everybody have a great weekend - hope the sun is shining for you! :)
