Happy Wednesday everybody! Are you still thinking it's Tuesday? Me too. Emeline's birthday is in two days - the month of Green is gone and I never did a green collage - and I don't have a knitting progress photo or new yarn to show you.
So what does a girl do when she is avoiding the 200+ bloglines to read and trying to finish a heel flap? She does a meme. But this isn't just any meme. I have only done one or two memes on my blog, and you wouldn't believe this but I was tagged again - For one that I've already done! SOOOOOoooooo.... I'm going to change it up a little bit. :)
I'm going to introduce you to the girl who tagged me. Her name is Jessi and her blog is Fat Girl's Guide to Triathalons. Jessi doesn't knit - she does take beautiful photos and make wonderful photo album pages though. And she loves to bake. And she's got a hotty husband who she likes to take photos of! Jessi lives in San Antonio, Texas, and her mother is moving to live nearby to her very soon (like about now!). Jessi's mom DOES knit! Imagine the luck! And Jessi's mom has been encouraging her to learn to knit. Jessi, however, has been strongly resisting this encouragement (which is surely gentle sensitive tactful loving encouragement so not to spoil any enthusiasm that could possibly be growing within her for the art of knitting).
I think we definitely need to do whatever is possible (I'm speaking for the knit blogging community here) to encourage Jessi ourselves to learn to knit. Something else about Jessi is that she and her darling husband are waiting for the word that it's time to fly to Poland to meet their new child or children who they are waiting to adopt. It's a long emotional difficult process and I truly couldn't possibly understand the depth and range of feelings involved in this situation. Honestly I've been so excited for them in this adoption process and can't wait to find out if they're getting a boy or girl or combination (they may get up to three children at once!).
So here's my part of the meme. Five ways to encourage Jessi to really want to learn to knit. Here goes.
Okay, that was more than five. But that's okay. I couldn't help myself!! Think any of that might be some kind of encouragement for her to want to knit??
I am tagging anyone that would like to stop over at Jessi's blog and leave her a comment encouraging her to learn to knit - maybe tell her one reason why it's special to you - one or two great reasons why you're glad that you decided to take up knitting. Thanks in advance to anybody that takes the time to visit Jessi and leave her a comment! :)
