Wow, that's quite an update! I'm glad everything seems to be back on track. I miss you when you don't post.

One big catch up! So much is happening for you, to you and by you! It's good to hear Katie is well again and all the kids are growing to be such fabulous people. Take care of yourself!!!

Wow, so much stuff! Glad to hear Katie is feeling better, that sounds awful. Good to hear from you again :)

Wonderful update. Your children are splendid. How neat about the translation of your pattern!

So sorry that Katie had to go to the hospital. We did that with our daughter in February, too. Scary.

The diet thing is tough. You're making a lot of changes all at the same time, and each one will change your body, how you feel and look, so it can become overwhelming. It can also become a source of joy. Maybe if you look at it as a bunch of different tasks, then it will be easier to see the progress you're making? For instance, are you doing okay at remembering to take the new medicine? That's a big step right there, and really important. When you look at the foods you can't have anymore, can you think of some alternatives? If you succeed at restricting your portion size, are you giving yourself a gold star? You should!

Good to hear from you, Laura! I'm right there with you with starting to eat right again - I modified my diet this week and next week I'm starting back at the gym. Did you hear about the recent study that all calories are created equal? I don't know that I necessarily buy that, but I do think that it comes down to calories in v. calories out, and that if you totally deprive yourself, you're setting yourself up for failure. It's all about moderation and being healthy, right? Good luck, girlie!

I was so tickled to hear from you, I was doing a little dance in my chair! I cannot believe how big the 'babies' are, and how wonderfully they are growing up. It is a little hard, isn't it, to see 'family time' dwindle...

I'm also thrilled that you finally 'got it' about diabetes. After all this time, I still lapse into the 'poor Jan' mentality. Balancing food, exercise and meds can be a chore, especially with everyone so busy. It's hard to break those habits we've spent a lifetime reinforcing.

I'm praying for you, gal!

Peace,
Jan

I am glad all is well. It is amazing how fast all our kids are growing up. Where does the time go? It was so good to catch up with you take care.

Great to hear from you Laura - and it sounds to me that you've been LOTS of busy! Your kids are beautiful (even those Arby's boys) and it's good to hear about them all. Take care of yourself, my friend!

Hi Laura! Love the pictures! Your girls look so much like you! Keep up the good work! Blessings all around!

I hope everything has calmed down now after the ordeal you had with Katie!

By the way: "I got a note this week from a dear sweet lady in Sweden named Annelis who owns a yarn shop in Geneve, a French speaking part of Sweden" Geneve is situated in french speaking part of SWITZERLAND - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switzerland not SWEDEN http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweden
