It all started when I was doing my blog post on March 1st. Emeline and Lila Pearl disappeared into the bedroom. Quietly closed the door. They're so stealthy that way and like to take advantage when I'm concentrating on something.
About the time I clicked Publish, Benny came in and said, Mom, the girls are getting in trouble. Emeline and Lila emerge from the bathroom (door in their bedroom leads to bathroom) with scissors and hand them over. I'm looking at her speechless. Emeline says, "Its okay, we cleaned up the mess. Everything is fine." They were playing Beauty Shop! Well gee, what am I going to say to that? What's done is done. I wasn't pleased and Emeline was quietly insulted for several days because I said it looked Horrible. On Thursday when she was getting out of the car after school I told her she was Beautiful and she said "then why did you say my hair looks Horrible?" Aww. I felt pretty bad about that.
Saturday we drove to Oklahoma and picked up Katie. By the time we were nearly home Emeline had gum stuck in her hair. It was time to take action. A little peanut butter later and the gum was out. A few whacks with the scissors and everything was evened up again. She's a pretty confident girl and informed me that she knew it was going to be beautiful and didn't care too much about admiring her pretty new hair cut. But when she saw herself in the mirror she SCREAMED with delight and then began singing "I am stylish!! I am stylish!!"
On another note, please keep my big kids and their extended family in your prayers. Their uncle and cousin were in a car accident last night. Their uncle was killed and 10yo cousin was seriously injured. After emergency surgery last night she's getting fixed up but the grieving will last a lifetime for that family.
Hug everyone you love and take care of every little thing. XOXOXOX
It IS stylish! I love it.
So sorry to hear about the uncle and cousin. How very sad.

She truly is beautiful, and it's great that she's got such self confidence. That's a good mom showing up there!
Sorry for the other kids and their grief. I'll keep them in my prayers. Life can be so fragile!

So sorry to hear about the accident. Adding them to my prayers.
